"Submission to authority and co-responsibility for the common good make it morally obligatory to pay taxes, to exercise the right to vote, and to defend one’s country” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, ¶2240).
As Catholics, it is our responsibility and duty to vote with a well-formed conscience and to pray for our elected officials. To learn more, please read Father Michael's letter on voting.
An excellent resource for Catholic voters is found in Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.
Additional information for voting as Catholics can be found on the voting page of the Diocese of Manchester website.
