The Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites (OCDS) is an association of lay people who embrace a calling to strive for Christian perfection in the world according to the spirit and ideals of the Order of Discalced Carmelites. The emphasis is on 1) vocation, 2) living in the world, and 3) following the spirit of Carmel, which is striving for close union with Christ through interor prayer. The Secular Carmelites meet in the Parish Hall on the second Saturday of the month. They also hold a Chalice of Strength Holy Hour to pray for priests on the second Saturday of the month in the transept chapel from noon to 1:00 p.m. All are invited to attend the Holy Hour.
